Gerraint,

It's always painful to see these things go unwanted... But a 12KVA UPS
is a serious bit of kit... Accommodation for something like this
probably needs planning...

There are probably a few people on this list who could use it, one comes
immediately to mind, but it would depend on whether they would want the
hassle...

Considerations are suitable size supply, running cost (they are not 100%
efficient), cooling for the room, and as I say hassle factor. I would
probably have been interested but it may have been a little too big for
the Genset (only 11KVA) and it would have to have been available at the
design stage as room would be an issue.

It's probably worth an e-bay but depends how quickly it needs to be
moved. Your company would probably be doing well to get it removed free
of charge, most companies would probably charge for removal and hope to
sell it on... Especially if they need to provide professional indemnity
in case of damage to remaining building...

HTH

I've just been offered free of charge a rather chunky UPS from place
i'm currently working.

It's only 22 months old, and only reason i've been offered it, is
becuase they have just gone for a huge room sized UPS with 3 lots
main's grid feeds etc.

They simply want the current one out of the way.

It's pretty big....

one of the 12kv Symmetra models, fully loaded with all management
modules.
Question is....
should i keep it, or flog it ,or not bother at all.
Thing must of cost a fair bit when they bought it. Batteries are all
in very good condition.
I looked on ebay, but it's not exactly the run of the mill 3U
rackmount jobby. It has 7 shelves in it ;)
Only thing i'm missing is the PowerChute Symmetra software as no one
knows where it is.

What would you do ?

Cheers
G
