cheers for the info Andy.
I'm down at the server room tomorrow so i'll get more numbers off
it, lol.
It had 3 shelves of batteries, I know that as we removed them to
make the unit lighter to move it.
Also the sparkies told me it was 240v single phase in, and it has a
bottom shelf with some kind of control modules, and then a top shelf
with two management modules and the screen thing, and at the back
has all the expansion ports for serial connections to servers, i
presume for powerchute.
They have done me paperwork for transferof ownership, and of course
no liability etc.
i've actually got room for it, as i have in essence a node 0 in loft
with just comms and patching etc, whereas node 1 (for namesake)
houses my 2 servers and external drives, but i was thinking i could
run a couple of emergency power sockets into house from it.
I wouldn't buy something like thismyself, usually use the Smart2200
UPS type.
I also think i'm going to get a right chunk of those thrown at me as
well in next 3 months. Loads of Compaq badged ones, some being the
much newer HP styley ones now the room in ups'ed, they are just
sitting in racks in the way so to speak ;)
If I take the hunky one off them, they are more likely to offer me
the others, which range from the small 1400 standalones, to the
newer HP ones at 3kv. I think i'd better clear the garage out to
store them, lol ;)
do you know if the powerchute software is the same from say a
smart2200 as it is for the symmetras ?
Cheers
Geraint.
