I don't know anything about Macs. I've stayed away since I first tried
one. I was trying to eject a CD from it, but couldn't work out how. I
tried pressing the button, and looked through dozens of menus. I
finally found a menu item somewhere that ejected the CD. I later found
out that you can eject a CD by dragging it into the trash. As for
virtualisation, the best product I've used is VMWare ESX. That requires
a very specific hardware to run, as it's an OS in its own right. VMWare
GSX runs on a host OS, be it Linux or Windows. I'm a big fan, as it
allows me to run concurrent servers on one piece of hardware at home.
This means that I can silo applications onto different servers, so a
dodgy upgrade to a xAPplication doesn't bring down my mail server, or a
dodgy script on my web site doesn't stop my heating working! In an
enterprise situation, VMotion allows you to move virtual servers across
multiple physical servers in seconds.

Cheers,
Andy
