Re: Boot from RAID5 or separate HDD?
This is in addition to the hot standby, essentially it becomes the new
hot standby while you wait for the new replacement disk to turn up.
Many raid arrays use the same make/model of disks and they're operating
in the same environment - the school of thought goes that if one disk
fails the others are likely to also fail too.
