RE: X10 Question
Hi Marcus,
It is an Infinite panel by Electronics line, I got it from
www.tlc-direct.co.uk <http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/>
as they were the
cheapest I found
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Security_Menu_Index/Wireless_index/ES
P_Infinite_Main/index.html
The X10 bit is a plug in module which I haven't bought yet.
I have two landings and the hallway, my sparkie cousin said as I wanted
five
switches, any of which could flip flop the lights from their current
status,
that I should put it all one circuit. It's a bit wasteful as I'd have some
lights on upstairs when I only wanted to light the hallway but meant I
could
achieve my aim in a simpler fashion. It was then I thought about having
the
alarm able to switch the lights on too and SWMBO liked that idea as we have
two young kids.
To cut along story short, I have gone down the full HA route as renovating
the whole house has cost enough but I still like the idea, in the next
house
maybe.
Cheers
Jonathan

I think many of us have had similar issues with two(three/fourway)
lighting circuits. AFAIK there are no UK X10 light switches that can be
used as a direct replacement. Your options are ;
1) use a micromodule in the back box of each switch
2) rewire to have the light controlled via an LD11 module and then
replace the switches with momentary switches. This is the route I have
taken, upstairs and downstairs hallways have a single gang 3 switch
plate and the vestibule has a double gang 6 switch plate.
What alarm box are you using ?

Subject: [ukha_d] X10 Question
HI folks,
My burglar alarm has a X10 interface, I would like to able to switch on
the
landing and hallway lights if an intruder or fire is detected, my alarm
can
support smoke detectors as well.
So my question, is there an X10 module that would act like a 2 way or
intermediate switch that I could add to the essentially traditional
wiring
in the house? It is all being rewired at the moment so putting it in now
can be done when the wiring for this light circuit goes in.
Cheers
