[OT] slow broadband

I am on Blueyonder elite with 10mb broadband.

I should get around 1.2mb/s download.

I do if I am connected directly to the Telewest modem. But if I connect via
my router which is a wireless Buffalo Airstation 10mbps the speed drops by
half to 400kb/s.

Anyone know why is it because my router is not fast enough? Or there is a
limit? It is very strange, no one else is connected there are no other
computers connected. I am connected via an Ethernet switch with CAT 5 and
not via wireless, but the packets are routed through my router asI have two
networks running a wireless and hardwired network. But because my router
only has one Ethernet port I have to use a switch.

Any help appreciated. Is it a case of me just buying a new router?

Ho yin
