RE: [OT] slow broadband
My Ethernet connections on my router are 10/100 connections. So I
don't know
what is going on.
My network control panel on my computer says I am connected at 100Mbps!
So why is my speed maxing out at under 500kps?
I've tried multiple configurations - plugging directly into the router, and
cutting out the switch etc etc. but only if I connect directly into the
modem do I get the 1.2Mbps download!
Anyone have any other ideas? Is anyone else on Telewest broadband and had
similar problems?
I am considering buying the Linksys WRT54GS-UK and hopefully it will solve
my problems?
Anyone got a Linksys? Any good?
Thanks,
Ho yin

802.11b? If so, the most you'll ever see (when connected at
"11Mbps")
is around 5.5-6Mbps. Solution? Upgrade to 802.11g.

Now I've read that, it's a little different. Is it a 10Mbps connection
to the router? Is that plugged directly into the modem? Alternatively,
it could be a duplex issue.

Maybe. Helpful, eh?
Cheers,
