Re: [OT] ADSL Speeds using BitTorrents

Yes its normal because bittorrents flood your machine with incoming
and out=
going connections.

Letting people download from you makes things worse because when you flood
=
your upstream
bandwidth (which isnt much on 1mb) you put a serious lag on your download
b=
andwidth because
upsteam is used to make requests for downstream etc.

Rule one is that bittorrent is crap.. aint used it in years... stick to
use=
net or something.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] ADSL Speeds using BitTorrents

Sorry for the OT post but I am getting mad...

If I benchmark my 1Mb F2S connection all is usually fine - as soon as I s=
tart a BitTorrent Client it drops through the floor - not just for the
bitt=
orrent application but for everything. Is this normal.

What is the point of paying =A325/month for an uncapped service if it isn=
't possible to reach anything close to the cap because of the speeds
allowe=
d by the ISP - Granted, they do release them between 1 and 5AM, or so they
=
say....
Any recommendations for an ISP with a more sensible approach? I've had en=
ough.

/rant over

BTW, I kind of like my IP Address (Ultra-sad I know) - would I be able to=
take it with me?
