But setting up x-lite with voip.co.uk or sipgate.co.uk, is practically the
same as setting up skype etc.

For my folks, I set up an ATA (Linksys PAP2) so they just have a DECT
phone,
and they use it as normal, mind you the fact that people are ringing a
Dublin number and the phone rings in New Zealand still confuses them ;)
