I believe rsync will run on windows under cygwin.  Google finds:

which looks promising.

rsync's a bit of a Swiss-army-knife for this sort of thing, and well
worth getting your head round the various parameters - most notably, it
can do 'local' copies as well as using the rsync protocol over the
network (I assume you've got the old machine mounted using the usual
windows filesharing, so no need to complicate things).

I use it extensively for backups; nightly to a dedicated disk in the
server, and monthly to a USB2 removable drive.  Much faster than doing a
straight copy.
