having looked very carefully at several options - X-10, Comfort, EIB /
Knx, C-Bus, Niko, and later Idratek - 'must say Idratek won-out for us,
with EIB second, then Niko or C-Bus, then Comfort ... we've nothing
installed yet - the hold-up being getting the PC organised to drive it
(Windows / XP being not what we're into) - but we're about to buy a
whole load of stuff ...  'seemed to me the Idratek philosophy was the
right one, they had their priorities right, all the basics were
available, plus it offered the prospect of an affordable &
comprehensive
set-up (not just lighting) that could be meaningfully developed (not
just simple stuff) ... we'd not heard of them before seeing them at the
ukha show at Hatfield, where they were a bit preoccupied but caught my
eye ... sometime later, though, it was David who convinced me they were
a viable proposition ...
