The message you posted on Cocoontech generated a traffic explosion!

But yes, RFXCOM sensors would be an ideal solution.  They are available
for temperature, humidity and barometer and are battery powered and
wireless, so you can put them anywhere (the picture on the web page is
the receiver, which connects via usb).
