I don't know your reason for not wanting an RJ45 patch panel but I
can't think of a better solution. Patch panels are cheap (CPC do good
ones), they are reliable and flexible. You may well want to connect
other devices to your network (Wifi in loft, secure storage out of the
way of thieves, cameras in the eves - I've seen all these). A patch
panel makes future changes easy.
