Tomtom or something else?

I have Tomtom at the moment - I like it and it works ok.

However I am looking for a GPS software that allows me to set it up so that
when there is traffic I can have it zoomed out in plan view so it shows the
surrounding block, and the screen remains at this zoom level keeps my
position centred on the screen. With Tomtom as soon as you start moving it
zooms back in and only shows you the next turning. Or if you clear the
route
it will not follow your GPS position.

This feature will enable me to pick my own side routes and not have to wait
for Tomtom to do some recalcs - particularly handy in Central London.

Does anyone know of any software that can do this? Has anyone used
iGuidance
can it do this?

Thanks,

Ho yin
