Not sure if i've got that far yet! I have a ton of bookmarks in
firefox and notes in one of my logbooks so will have a dig see what
i've written down!!

i was also looking at using a yamaha amp to scale the video. The
yamahas were the only reasonably priced amps that i could find that
would scale the video between different sources. others such as my
current Marantz will only output a signal on the same type as the
input i.e. it won't take svideo and put it out over composite.

I was looking at the yamaha amps back when i had far grander ideas for
my video distribution around the house!
Now things are far simpler so as and when i'll simply be looking to
split the component signal...

......ahah brainflash I remember now, the reason i needed to get a
source other than component was because my tv didn't have component,at
the time i did think ooh other option buy a new tv lol, i've since
sold the tv (i don't watch tv anymore !!!) the tivo has been
unsubscribe so i just have freeview through the projector for the very
very rare moments i want tv so i won't actually need to do it anymore!!

god my memorys bad some days! all these different ideas and plans lol

so anyway......that was how I was going to do it!!

only reason i might split the component now would be to drive a screen
upstairs as well but that wouldn't involve downscaling the signal in
any way.

all this needs far more thinking about very soon, i want to lay a
laminate floor in my lounge, currently i have cables running around
the edge tucked under carpet, so to lay laminate floor i want to hide
all AV kit in understairs cupboard, this means getting cables run over
the ceiling!! (apparently my floor has polystyrene blocks or something
under so no room for cables :( )

anyways....will look for info but i think i just googled for component
video splitters and component to composite converter.

Thanks
Noel
