Yeah,

I had a similar problem over Christmas, albeit that I'm in a mid-terraced
property.

Changing the channel number to 7 really helped and I've had no drop-outs
since.

Apparently, what channel number you should choose is dependent on the make
of your router. From memory, from the UK should be 1, 7 or 11 (but you may
want to check).
