Can I use speaker cable for an subwoofer?

Hi all

I'm in the process of cabling my lounge before it is plasterboarded
next week.

I'm using high quality speaker cable for the front, centre and
surround channels. Will there be any problems if I use this speaker
cable to feed the line level signal to the subwoofer (approx 16ft
cable length required)? Or do I need to use dedicated phono cable?

Thanks!
Tom
