Cat5 and CT100 together in node zero
First fix cabling in my new house is now all finished so just have to
sort
out termination in node zero. I've got 45 Cat5 and 20 CT100 cables coming
back into a mini cabinet about 60cm high. The Cat5 will be terminated in a
2U patch panel at the top of the cabinet.
The CT100 will mostly be used for video. I plan to fit F type connectors to
the cables that vanish into walls and then barrel connectors through an
aluminium blanking panel at bottom of cabinet. Will then use short CT100
leads with an F type each end as patch leads.
Thought is this should be well screened (better than it would be with
soldering CT100 to open chassis connectors) and as such there shouldn't be
a
problem with crosstalk between CT100 and Cat5. Does that all make sense ??
Something I'm missing or a better way ??
