Not quite right. HD Ready usually means that the resolution of the
panel is sufficient to display high definition material which is all
well and good if you use a computer to play your material but a
requirement buy the new sky high definition service is that the panel
have a HDMI or DVI connection that is HDCP compliant. HDCP is a
standard which is used by sky to enable content protection and without
it you don't have sky HD.
Personal preference is LCD as resolutions are higher at the lower
price band.If money is no object then plasma has better colour display
and is better at fast moving objects (think football) but you do pay
more for that. What ever you choose I would pick a model that has a
resolution of at least 1366x768 so you can display 720p high
definition material. Most LCD's have VGA ports and the XBox 360 can do
component so a panel with that would be good to free up the rest of
the ports for something else. Also burn in is not much of an issue but
as with all current panel technologies, push it to the extreme and you
will get burn in so no static windows desktop on there for 24 hours ;)
Avforums is a great place to look for plasma/lcd disscussions.
Any more questions just ask.
