Mine is a Navman and in imperial it uses the damned American style of
feet. Turn left in 1500 feet means nothing to me - I want it in yards.
Switch to Metric and Kilometres mean nothing to me either. At least yards
and metres are only 3 inches apart and can be read as the same when
barrelling down the road in a car.
How you can overshoot a turning because it was 100 yards away rather than
100 metres I have no idea particularly as a yard is longer (just). It's a
total difference of about 9 metres further down the road. Of course I have
every faith you never travel too fast ;-)
Ian (who can miss the turning under almost any and all circumstances)

No, it's me as well. Many a time I've almost overshot my turning because
of this. Or was it because I was travelling too fast...

Yes!!!!
Like with TomTom.
I like it when they display the overal distance to cover in miles.
But then when I come to a junction I don't want to be told how far away it
is in yards!! I want it in metres!
But that is probably just me.
