Noel,
I suppose it really depends on the application and the available space.
I have gone for full size floor boxes that can have data and power (and
TV?) in with a lid and cable exit. One advantage of this is that you can
lose extra patch cable under the top lid...
I've not seen a 'single' size outlet with a simple lid for data, only
power outlets. The disadvantage of these for me is that the lid would
then be held open if something was connected, again I wanted the lid to
fully close with just the cable left coming out of the floor...
While a smaller brass or similar lid may seem less obtrusive you can
'let in' the floor finish to the lid of the larger units so all you see
is the cable exit and a narrow strip of steel framing the lid...

Hey all,
Anyone got any ideas where I can buy some infloor network sockets from
please?!
Ideally ones with a metal cover that's spring loaded to cover the
socket?! I know you can get them for power sockets but need to find
them for network sockets!!
Cheers
Noel
