Re: Quiet fans for Antec Aria case
There is a mounting bracket for a fan along the edge of the PSU - I use
this to support a practically silent 120mm fan over the top of the CPU.
The CPU itself has just a heatsink - I took it's own little fan off, but
the flow from the big fan is plenty to keep it cool.
The real problem with this case is getting the heat out. Currently I
use one of those cyclone blowers that fit in a spare slot on the back of
the case, but I've yet to find one that is quiet enough for HTPC use.
For the HTPC, I go for a larger case and hide the thing in a cupboard!

started building a MCE PC for the bedroom based on one of these, and I want
to get it as quiet as possible. Currently its running a 2GHz Celery with
just the bog-standard stock intel fan that came with it. I'd like to
replace this with the quietest I can fit in the case, but as I'm 160 miles
away from it until next weekend I can't check any of the clearances, &
I'd like to order a fan this week so I can complete the build next
weekend...

- anyone know if there is a passive solution that will work as effectively?
