There are also likely to be power management events available in the
BIOS to wake the machine on various external events, such as mouse or
keyboard activity, wake on LAN, or wake on modem ring. It ought to be
possible (if you have these events available) to rig up an output from
another machine or an HA controller to simulate one of these events,
thus waking up the PC. You can also get various wake-on-LAN applications
from download sites that will let you send the magic packet to wake a PC
up from another machine on the LAN...

The possibilities are endless...
