RE: Sky by Broadband
I had tried it and downloaded hell boy which was watchable on the pc.
Having read more about it on tinternet its actually a p2p service and the
file that sits on your c drive is being constantly uploaded to other sky bb
users even when the app isnt running! Theres a service called kservice.exe
which happily chugs along using your bandwidth and for those with capped or
or 1-2gb download limits I can see this causing a problem if the upload is
counted towards their total.
Considering how much we pay sky id expected them to at least host it off
their own servers. Fair enough if they tell you youll be hosting the file
when you sign up but I belive its buried in their t&c's somewhere.

Paul,
Managed to get mine working, and jump through the upgrade of DRM hoops,
looks as if it needs hardening even before it goes full scale...
I tried to use a network drive to store the download on but it didn't like
that...
Only seems to work on drives on the installed machine...
Haven't fully downloaded a film yet so can't comment on quality, the films
seem to be 500 to 800 Mb...

I believe you can set up multiple users - don't know if these can be used
on
different PC's - worth a go.
Incidentally, I got it setup then it wanted to install an auto update - now
it won't start!!! :(
Paul.
