Pretty much. You would probably need a little more scripting knowledge, but
that's pretty basic stuff and plenty of help is available - As with all
things HA, there's many ways to skin a cat.

It would also be possible (I believe) to use Kevin's C-Bus interface and
still use xPLHal (it can handle xAP as well, although not as well as a
native xAP application) as the scripting/intelligence to bridge between
technologies.

IMO Homeseer is pretty much over rated - several of the guys on the xPL
list
have moved away from HS to the xplhal software (which is a free download).
If they were both free, Homeseer would have the edge - but HS is far from
free!

Watching the Homeseer 2 launch and the new improvements was not
particularly
overwhelming - xplhal is already capable of most things, runs as a service,
can be managed from any PC on the network (so you don't need the server
logged in etc)
