I agree with everything here - exactly the same for us (well, me). Fell

the hype having owned loads of iPODs, bought a Mac Mini, played with it for
a couple of week, thought 'bugger, it's not like Wintel, I'll need to spend
more time learning the interface', and it then gathered dust for 6 months
before being sold 'as new'!
Like it or not, if you've been using Windows for a long time, the

to Mac is not as easy as the hype would have you believe, IMHO.
And yes, mine crashed as well, albeit more gracefully than Windows, and
that's the bog-standard set up, nothing else added. Plus it's reluctance

Hi,
My wife and I tried this experiment a few months back. Suffice to say the
minis are now sold and we are back to pcs although I loved the minis at the
time and was certainly enjoying playing with something new, bright and
white.
A few factors contributed to this.
1:) The wife couldn't get on with it as it was not what she was used to and
didn't want to change.
2:) The minis crashed - yes they did! and not just once. The concept of
apples never crashing is simply not true - this was one of the main reasons
for purchasing.
3:) Applications - although most stuff is available for the minis (office
etc) it is slighlty different to what we are used to at work (some might

y
better) but it does mean know 2 slightly different version sof the same
software. We had issues with cisco'ing in from thome to work on the minis 2
as her office had no real support for it.
4.) ILife is great but Itunes is now available for PCs. There are plently
o=
f
photo apps for pcs too that compare nicely with IPhoto IMHO.
5.) I know spware/viruses are an issue for pcs but something like
Zonealarm's full package will sort you out on the pc and keep you safe.
6.) In summary if you have been using pcs for 10 years its hard to change.
O and its not the fastest thing either (not suprising given the specs. I
would buy the most expensive Dell you can get for your cash.
