Not that common given the number that are sold ... I used to deal with the
Philips warranty and non-warranty repairs at Lets before I left and I saw
every failed Pronto that came back (and every "failed Pronto"
email that we
received) and the number of backlight failures that were reported back to
u=
s
per year were minute compared to the number of Prontos that Lets would sell
per year.
Thing is if you trawl the internet then you will always find what appear to
be enough reports of anything to sound "common" but from a rough
in-my-head
calculation I reckon that backlight failures on RU950s per year (whether
inside or outside warranty) were less than one to every thousand sold.
(RU980s were less than that.)=20
