RE: Fw: Remote Control

I can report that the Harmony is very good indeed.

=20

I integrated it with my kit, in about 2 hours, though from nothing to 90%
working was less than 30 minutes, just the tweaking of the activities takes
a little time (delays etc)

=20

Nice Features.

*	Easy to program activities, that remember whether certain devices
are on/off
*	Program buttons for other devices onto a device e.g. while watching
SKY I can adjust Picture size on TV or Effect On/Off on Amp. I wasn=92t
expecting this.
*	Help. If it all goes Pete Tong, the help will ask you questions to
get you back to a starting point (i.e. everything off)
*	Adjustable power levels, if the remote is double sending commands or
not sending you can up / down the power so that the device responds
properly.
*	Tilt sensor. So that it wakes up when you pick it

=20

Bad features.

*	Some buttons are a bit small (i.e the Teletext ones)
*	The screen isn=92t brilliant, it is low res, but easily readable.

=20

It seems to be wife friendly, and she likes it better than the pronto.

=20

Is it better than a pronto ? Probably not, but with a preference for hard
buttons and ease of programming the Harmony has lots of plus points.

*	Pronto feels a bit nicer
*	Pronto is definitely MUCH harder to program. Be prepared to spend
LOTS of time.
*	When the Pronto is programmed properly it would have the edge I
feel.

=20

So far I=92m very pleased.

Hmm - still not sure on where to go now..

I like the look of the pronto but not sure if I prefer the functional
difference between the harmony and the pronto...=20=20=20

Maybe I will just buy both!=20

<<Possibly - I too sometimes get that "Why does everything I buy
seem to be
faulty?" feeling then realise that it isn't the case ... It's just the

Yup - would be nice wouldn't it. :-D
