You are spot on Chris - all of the shows will be product lead, very few
have
dedicated home cinema demonstrations as it is just to difficult to do
properly in a show environment. The trade shows are good for getting to see
some new kit and being able to get through a lot of
manufacturers/distributors in a short space of time. If the purpose of the
exercise is to get a feel for the end result or design ideas for the
planned
room then the shows (and most shop demo facilities) will not help that
much.
In that case it is back to magazines and maybe something like AV Forums -
search for "get your plasmas out for the lads" or look in the DIY
home
cinema forums their for more inspiration.

Even then, the trade ISE and CEDIA shows will be much more focused on
systems integration than just home cinema.

I would a agree with the regional audio shows that happen and visit a
lot of stores for demos.

Exhibitions just don't allow us the space to demo SS effectively.
