The software buffers the video so it can be set up to start recording
before the motion starts. The post record time is set in
the system configure menu (F9), general settings. You will need to stop
recording and disable any servers before you can change most settings.
Each camera has its own page and you can change recording quality,
frame rate, motion sensitivity etc here. You can also set a mask for
each camera, so you can define areas which don't trigger the motiuon
detection, which can be very useful.
Have you looked at the videos using any of the other viewers that they
supply, to check if it is the recordings that are jittery or the
jitter is being introduced by the webserver?
