Hi Paul,

Just you mention that in standby everything switches off, tried on
mine and only discs stop.. but psu fan and i think cpu fan still running?

Any idea if all PC's should switch everything off or just some PC's?

I have an asrock 741 mobo see for specs
http://www.asrock.com/product/K7S41.htm

Gary

quite easy to implement that with IR control with no extra hardware.
Another advantage is that upon remote "on" it's available almost
instantly, - no boot-up.

weeks ago. - you may recall I posted several times about silencing the
Antec Aria case that I'm using. Now that I have sorted out putting it
in standby mode it's no longer an issue, using the power toggle button
on the MCE remote I can put the PC in and out of standby mode at the
touch of a (remote) button. the transition in either direction takes
no more than about 2 seconds, when in standby, everything is spun down
and it is totally silent, and on switch-on the MCE interface is there
"instantly"
