Chris,

Node 0 will be noisy, more expensive to keep quite.

Node 0 will generate heat, if this can be gotten rid of easily this will
help. Being able to make use of this during the colder months may off
set heating costs?

Somewhere with space. Older, cheaper, devices tend to be bigger...
Expansion takes room and installing the replacement and soak testing
before removing existing would improve WAF.

Central, some cable runs will have limited distance unless expensive
repeaters are used.

Your Node 0 should be a clean as possible. Fans draw any dirt in and
filters will block. Electrostatic energy also attracts dirt...

Access to front and rear of cabinets, as well as top and bottom if
possible.

My Node 0 is 4m by 2.6m x 2.9m(H) and its still a job to keep it all in
order. OK I'm still building it, but then who isn't ???

'trying to decide a good place for Node-0 - workshop or study,
boiler-room or garage ... does it matter ? If occasional access only
is truly required, out-of-the-way might work, otherwise ... maybe
putting it in the kitchen / parlour would be best ? OTOH, a data-bus
approach would be better, with a terminal in each place.

Chris
