Why not use a Y splitter/combiner?

INPUT 1 - From Modulator
INPUT 2 - From TV aerial / SKY RF out

Output = Combination of both inputs but on diff. channels?

As long as the modulator channel/frequency doesnt conflict, sounds
like it might work to me....

Or is there something fundamental I'm forgetting?
