MCE Caller ID - Still stuck :(

That same old nugget i keep wanting, but not got working.
Tried numerous so called caller id UK friendly modems etc, but no
joy.


I read up a little on the xAP plugin, but i couldn't really
understand it. I'm not a programmer by any means.

Has anyone got CallerID working under MCE neatly, and if so, is
there a simple dummy's guide to it ?

I've spotted a Meteor on fleabay at the moment, and thought that
might be my best attempt, at worst i could use Homeseer phone as i
do use homeseer on my setup, and can add the MCE Homeseer plugin for
bringing the systems closer together.

That doesn't help me though with the simple task of having phone
calls pop up on screen.
There was a tutorial on doing the e-mail side of it under xAP, but I
don't use e-mail on the MCE machine, so it's not of much use,
whereas the phone pop up.....one of the things i always wanted.
A look up so it would display name, and picture of person if stored
etc...

Any simple ways now MCE has been around a bit longer ?

The simpler, the better ;)
