I've actually just done this over the last weekend to wire in a
touchscreen vga monitor in the kitchen to a server in the loft.=20=20

I used one of these:

But this does more in that it is a USB extender for the keyboard and
mouse too.  For this it worked very well.  I would note that USB
versions of such KVM extenders seem to be rarer and more expensive.
Only prob for me was that the USB only does the keyboard and mouse and
not the usb touchscreen device.  So I ended up getting one of these
too for the touchscreen.=20=20

This is really good as it need no power and is small and neat, just
worked from the box!.=20=20

In retrospect I would have tried one of these. They are much cheaper
for the VGA. (Although does not go to quite such a high resolution).=20
This might suit you (but I cant vouch for it as I dont have this one).

In going for the USB extender version of the KVM it's ended up costing
me more than it might, so perhaps you can benefit from this experience
