RE: C-Bus 8 channel relays/dimmers - now importing kit

To help explain the situation with buying CBus from Aus -

Speaking as someone who's regularly purchasing & installing Cbus kit in
the
UK, I was less than impressed with Clipsal when it was obvious that we
(i.e.
anyone in the UK) could buy CBus items online from Oz for around the same
or
better prices than we (i-Home) could buy from official routes in the UK.
This was not the fault of our distributor or the Oz etailer, but rather
Clipsal pricing. The argument with Clipsal was that "why are the
official UK
prices so much dearer than the official Aus prices"? They gave some
febble
excuses, and rather than sort the issue they found the simpler solution of
stopping the Aus distributors selling to the UK. Of course there are ways
round that (maybe sending to an Aus contact who passes it on to you), but
we
were not impressed with their response and explanation.

Coupled with the fact that G got the new DLT's sent to the UK weeks and
weeks before they were even launched by Clipsal UK. Blaming delays on
shipments & marketing only works for a week or two at best imo.

The dealer I used a year ago states they won't deal with the UK on their
website these days.

No one bats an eyelid when we get other stuff from abroad, ala Sonos, and
bypass the UK dealers, but when it comes to thing like CBUS, it all seems
different somehow. Just an observation.
