Have a look in the group's archives (www.ukha-archive.com) for "Sky
Gnome" IIRC this is/was a device you connect to your Sky box and can
then get some useful info out of it e.g. there was some talk of using
the info from it to turn off the power to the box if channels in a
certain number range were viewed...
See also www1.sky.com/skygnome but I don't think this has too much on
the hacked uses.
There are some google hits too.

Sorry I don't have more info, I remember something about the thread
but not too much of the detail :-/
