Thunderflies and LCDs!

  • Subject: Thunderflies and LCDs!

I remember this being brought up last year but earlier today I noticed a
few
of the tiny thunderflies wandering about on the screen of my faithfull old
Sony VAIO...

...anyway, a quick flick of the finger and all were disloged except for one
of the little buggers which my finger seemed to just brush over. DAMN! It
was behind the front surface of the LCD ... and it had decided that it
liked
it there as it wasn't going anywhere!

Anyway ... If you find yourself in the same predicament and the bug in
question hasn't been there for long (i.e. it's still alive) then I managed
to encourage it to extracate itself by tapping on the screen about 1cm away
from it just hard enough to cause the screen to "ripple" slightly
and the
little bugger started to move away from where I was tapping - it took a
little while (and obviously you don't want to do it hard enough to crack
the
screen or squish it) but eventually the little sod was away from the
viewable area of the display!

Phil
