Hi and welcome :)

Homeseer is pretty good - a little pricey maybe given that we all expect
something for nothing on this group ;) I've only recently bought and
installed it after several years of running various bits of software to
integrate my alarm system (Comfort) with HA hardware controller
(HomeVision), house X10 lighting (40-odd LD11's), telephone, AV kit and
various other bit's n' pieces.

xAP is also a great standard for distributing HA data and controlling
'stuff'. James' excellent set of applications can be found here:

(and best of all they're free!). xAP switchboard is probably one of my most
used apps - allows logging of telephone and Skype calls, integrates really
well with Outlook and has many other great features.

Loads of other stuff to mention - but I'm sure others' will chip in!
