It is quite common for window/door manufacturers (Especially uPVC) to
separate production and fitting services. There are legitimate business
reasons as to why they do this (Too boring for discussion) and
unfortunately a number of reasons that are designed to give them a 'get
out of jail card' especially in terms of the 'magic' 10 year +
guarantees they often offer with their products.
Just make sure you check WHO any warranty is with and make sure that the
warranty is not invalid in the event of improper or poor fitting by a
<cough> third party. It is not uncommon for the warranty to be
transferred from manufacturer to fitting co. Fitting co goes titsup.com
and tada! No warranty to have to support for 10 years! EASY!
I never used to be this cynical, must be my age :-/
