[OT] Digital Camera Recommendation

Hi everyone,

I'm off to South Africa in August and realise it's about time to
invest in a digital camera. I'm not too hot (yet) on photography and
given the numbers of digital cameras out there I'm not sure where to
start.

All I know is that I'd like to spend up to (but no more than =A3200-250)
and I'd like to make sure it has a zoom lens (since we're going to be
doing a bit of safari) and a high mexapixel rate.

If it takes video as well that'd be great.

Any suggestions gratefully received!!
