What "major development" are you looking for exactly?
Strikes me that on the whole you're not really looking into stuff before
you
post questions up here as voice recognition in general has been pretty good
for several years now (unless you're a Scot).
Of course the problem is that for voice recognition to work well you can't
be a tight-arse and skimp on the hardware side of things. No matter how
good
the software is then unless it gets a good source to work with then it is
fighting a loosing battle from the outset. Good ceiling mics are a must,
run
through a decent limiter and compressor so that the software
"sees" as
little non-voice mush and as constant a level as possible and you're off.
My own opinion is that voice recognition is a great little party trick to
show to people to make then go "Wow" (or to show your mates when
you arrive
back home sh*tfaced from the pub) but in day to day use the concept of
talking to my house to do stuff just leaves me cold ... However, as we all
know, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and everyones are
slightly different.
