I assume you are talking about the mains voltage supplies to kit - in that
case, it's not.

Which achieves what exactly other than adding a few extra meters of copper
between devices?

Far more usefull is to - say - have each room as it's own independent
"ring"
on its own breaker and then you can isolate rooms from the mains
independently. (Which is useful when decorating / drilling walls etc. but
not from the standpoint of preventing interference being carried around
your
mains wiring.)

What device are you thinking of that is going to do this smoothing of mains
power operation for you? Other than something like a proper
double-conversion UPS (or multiple ones for what you are suggesting) then I
can't think of anything that would do the job properly that doesn't come
under the snake-oil category.
