Yes (ish. Remember I'm not an expert either :-))). You need to create a
cert using certification services and install it on to the XDA. Lots of
information here:

It's a guide for PPC2003 but lots of the info is still relevant and
you'll find links from that page for other Exch2k3 bits etc.

P.S. Take a peak at RPC over HTTP for Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 its
blooming great!
