Have you tried the Electra autorouter they are touting these days? Any
hearsay or other opinions?

Typically I have avoided them as I find they are more trouble than they
are worth

I have been using Proteus since 1998. Well pleased with it.

Level 1/2 is 1000 pin limit
Level 1+/2+ is 2000 pin limit
Level 3 is unlimited (but too expensive for me)
