I downloaded a PPT of Sky's HD training that was kicking around a week
or
two back and it confirms that HD output will be from both analogue
component
and HDMI. There are also options to set the HD output to either 720p or
1080i.

Nothing to stop you doing this as far as I can see (just as you can with
existing Sky Boxes) and it will work as long as the component output is
supported by Sky (see previous comments). Interesting to note Chris'
comment that it's possible that the component output may only be at SD
(although why would they bother making it component, rather than RGB
etc, if they weren't going to use it for HD?)
