BTW - When he also told us recently that he had to have a mobile phone in
case he got attacked in the supermarket or some other emergency (and Jo
says
he doesn't watch too much TV) I told him "Fine - no problem - you can
have
my old phone" - a Nokia 6310i - "as that lasts ages without being
charged up
so you'll never have problems with it being flat and you can pay for the
call top ups from your pocket money."

Of course that went down like a lead ballon and he threw a huge strop but -
as I pointed out - if it is only for emergencies then he won't be spending
money on calls or texts would he? ;-)
