Hi Rob, I do have some X10 RF remotes and need to control a lot of X10
devices.

The heating and lighting in the Meerkat's cages are controlled by X10
modules and I control my heating boiler via HV relay drivers.

I have a display of temperature readings displayed on ACE buttons and I
also control my music via WinAMP, which also displays track and artist
details on ACE buttons.

My door bell controls various macro's depending if I am home or not and
the announce err, announces when I receive a telephone call and writes
the number or caller name onto another ACE button which I can click to
clear the text and open a .txt file that has the details of the last 25
calls received.

Most of the actions I use are controlled by good old HV.

What I would like is a good simple and reliable interface that is
accessible from anywhere and anything to control and display
information.

I've not come across ACE before, but you should be able to replace ACE
with Girder and the touch screens can run NetRemote (PPC and Win32).
BTW both Girder and NetRemote use Lua (www.lua.org) as their scripting
languages.

Girder also supports control via an ordinary IR or X10 RF remote.

What hardware do you want to control using Girder/NetRemote?
