LED's work off constant current rather than voltage, therefore you
cannot dim them by reducing the voltage - they carry on working at full
brightness until they suddenly turn off. This probably not too good for
the transformer/driver. You can dim LED's but most systems have a dimmer
that accepts a separate 1-10v control line. In this case the driver is
also performing the dimming (by changing the current).

You can do this with Cbus but you would need the LED's powered on a
normal circuit (or via a reply) and then have a Cbus 0-10v controller
doing the driver control. This is not really an option for retro fit as
it requires additional cables to be laid.

Gareth's email yesterday did prompt me to do some searching and I have
found a dimming LED driver that works with leading edge dimming systems,
ie. most control gear available in the UK. However you are limited to
the type of fittings as the driver apparently only works with 350ma
fittings.
