The lighting cct will be protected by a 6A MCB (or a 5A fuse if you have
an old wired type...)



If you install a 3A fuse in the plug you will be fine. In fact
installing a 13A fuse would be OK as long as everything downstream is
rated at 13A plus, it would just mean that you would pop the 6A MCB
before the local 13A fuse and then you would have to find the dis board
in the dark....



If you do need to use a 3 pin square (conventional) outlet put a note on
it to say it is supplied from a 6A cct....



BTW you can wire the socket with 1.5mm if it is from the lighting cct.
Anything bigger will be hard to introduce to an existing rose / Junction
Box.

perfect thats what i'll do,
sorry to ask again, what ratings best on the lighting circuit? all I
want to run is an aerial booster and an inspection light so I assume
current is pretty low?
